Our First Casualty
One of our first casualties was a very young tawny owl which had fallen from the nest about fifty yards up the road from us. We watched him for a day to make sure the parents weren’t coming down to feed him but as they weren't we felt we had to do something. he had tiny maggots' covering his head so once we had got some water inside him we removed these one by one which must have left him feeling better.
